Young Biologists' Association (YBA)
YBA
is promotes Biology, Biodiversity, Environmental Management and
Healthy Lifestyles among young generation. This was formed in 1998
by Institute of Biology, Sri Lanka, the umbrella organization for
professional Biologists' (Academics, Researchers etc.) in the country.
Meetings of YBA are held on Tuesdays from 3.00
pm at National Museum of the Natural History, Sri Marcus Fernando
Mawatha, Colombo 7, Sri Lanka. Membership mainly includes young
school children and university undergraduates.
Activities of the YBA: Study groups working on
various taxons, Field excursions, Workshops, Certificate courses,
help in A/L projects, research, short courses (Photography, web
design, plant identification, museum techniques).

society is run by undergraduates and postgraduates of the Department
of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Activities: Organizing exhibitions, invovle in conservation and
management activities of Univesity Forest at Yagirala, organizing
lectures.
