Visa on Arrival
Nationals of the following countries coming into Sri Lanka as bona-fide
tourists do not require entry visas for a period of thirty days (visa on
arrival).

Currency
Exchange Foreign currency rates of change are announced in the
press daily. Money can be exchanged at banks, hotels and money changers.
Sri Lankan Currency
The Sri Lankan rupee is used in the country. One rupee is made
up of 100 cents. Banking hours Normal banking hours are between 0900 hrs
and 1500 hrs from Monday to Friday. Banks are generally closed during the
weekends and on public holidays. However, some private banks operate on
some holidays.
Credit Cards
Reputed Credit Cards are widely accepted by tourist establishments and restaurants,
including Visa, Master and Amex.
Shopping
The world's finest tea and spices are grown here. Precious stones, created
batiks, hand carved silver trays, ornaments; gems and Jewellery are the
island’s pride available at reasonable prices. Designer Label clothing are
manufactured in Sri Lanka and are re-exported to USA and Europe. Shopping
in Sri Lanka is value for money.

Water
It is recommended to drink filtered water, mineral water and aerated water,
which are available at all sales outlets.
